Which ordered pair is a solution of the equation y = 3x? A. (–2, –9) B. (–8, –18) C. (–8, –3) D. (–10, –30)

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@kary8724 I'll check one option for you, the rest you have to check. Would you do that?

First things first, an ordered pair is written as (x,y). To find a pair which satisfies this equation, plug the x value of the ordered pair into y=3x in the x position. If the y value you get doesn't match what is given in the ordered pair, try another. In this case, the answer is (-10,30) y=3*-10=-30 y=-30 when x is -10.

option D is the correct one since it satisfies the equation

yeah option d
