Because lawns may not come out with exact whole-number measurements, give an example that ended in a fractional value. How would this change your conversion to square yards? Show with a fractional amount example. I already did the first part of this problem and found the square footage of a yard. I do not know how to begin or what they are talking about, can anybody help?
It appears as if for the first part of the problem, you got a whole number as your answer for the square footage of the lawn, which converted easily to square yards. I'm pretty sure now they want you to come up with fractional dimensions for a lawn so when you calculate the square footage, it will not be a whole number. They're then asking you to convert the square footage to square yards, and presumably, it will require a slightly more complex method than your conversion with a whole number.
so would it be like 50 ft and 5 inches and then write it as 50ft 5/12. Is this what they mean?
Yeah, I think that's what they are wanting, like the dimensions are 50 ft by 5/12 ft
Thanks
