i need to be able to defend if the US needed to drop the atomic bomb on hiroshima and Nagasaki to end WW2 on the perspective of Emperor Hirohito. PLEASE HELP. METALS FOR ALL WHO HELP

The other option was invading Japan. At the time the Japanese population was fiercely loyal to the emperor and the civilians themselves would fight the potential invaders. I've heard that the invasion would have cost more than a million causalities( Do some research to be sure). What the United States wanted was a way to convince the Emperor of Japan of complete destruction. They did not want to lose all those people. War was over in Europe and people were tired of the war. So they made the tough choice to drop the two bombs.

Hiroshima was in Japan. Ignore the above answer. There is no real justification except that we did not understand how powerful the bomb was. We were very weary from fighting a two front war, and did not have the ability to put boots on the ground. There was a revenge factor as well, but that doesn't justify it. There is no justification for it. You may be able to argue why we chose to do it, but to morally justify it is impossible.

The closer american troops got to japan, the more bloody and costly the battles were for them. After Iwo Jima the president was forced with making a decision. Fight on mainland japan which would leave USA with the most casualties it's ever seen, leave the Japanese without homes, infrastructure, government, or men in general, and use all the money it takes to supply that type of operation. OR, Drop ONE bomb on a largely military target in the hopes that japan would then admit defeat and stop it at that. After one bomb there was no such reaction so they did it again. If they invaded instead it would have been twice as bad. the whole point to drop the bomb in the first place was to minimalize casualties and cost and if they stopped that plan after one and then invaded it would have been morally worse then dropping a second bomb on another target.
