one salary scale is modelled by the function s(y) = 25000 + 2250y where s(y) dollars is the salary scale and y is the number of years worked for the company. the employees' union negotiates an increase of $1000 for each employee. s(y) = 25000 + 2250y becomes s(y) = 26000 + 2250y the question is asking me to state a domain and range for this function how would i get this ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Domain and range of Linear equation are R!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the back of the book says that the answer is domain : 0 ≤ y ≤ 45 range 26000≤ S ≤127250

OpenStudy (zepp):

I guess the question's asking the domain & range of the situation, not the function itself :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it only gives me the functions. it doesn't really give me any other numbers. or whatever. :S

OpenStudy (zepp):

Have not idea then, there's no way to find how many years the guy worked for that company.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats true. hmm. i'll just skip the question and ask my teacher when i get back to school. thanks anyways. :)

OpenStudy (zepp):

Np. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

however if it were asking for the domain and range of the function they would be d = all real numbers r = all real numbers correct?

OpenStudy (zepp):

Right ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i'll just write that down for the answer now. haha thanks again ! :)
