The second angle of a triangle is 25 more than twice the measure of the first angle. The third angle of a triangle is 15 degrees more than half the measure of the first angle. Find the measure of each angle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first angle is x degrees. The second angle is x +25 degrees. The third angle is 0.5x + 15. You now have three expressions for the angles. All you have to do now is equate expression of first angle to the second and solve for x. Now substitute this value you found for x into each of these expressions to find the measure of each angle. Ask if something's unclear : )

The three expressions sum to 180

Oh yeah I didn't think my answer through properly. Disregard all I said except that the expressions are correct. So: x + x+ 25 + 0.5x + 15 = 180 and solve for x
