|p+6|+9=8 solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

might be a good idea to explain why...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you like an explanation why theres no solution Riya?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please and the work that goes along with it....please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok |p+6|+9=8 subtract 9 from both sides |p+6| = -1 the two lines around p+6 ( 'mod p+ 6' ) mean 'the absolute value ' of p+6 - that is positive value only if p+6 is negative it becomes positive thus |p+6| must be positive ( cant be = -1) so there is no solution
