Find the slope of the line containing the given pair of points. If the line undefine, state so. (2,0)(2,6)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The x coordinates are equal. So this is a vertical line which means that the slope is undefined.

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Use this formula to find the slope. \[y _{2} - y _{1}\ (over) x _{2} - x _{1}\] So it's in (x, y) form. 6 - 0 ----- 2 - 2 Slope = 6 over 0 The denominator is 0 which will give you a undefined slope since you are only going up 6 and no turn/direction is possible.
