The study of theater arts requires the students or the actors to not only show the scenes asked of them in the way they act but also on the way the set was prepared. The set and the props give the production and the audience the feeling of being there. The props and the set give the audience a sense of knowing what the actors are saying or where they are. Theater requires these elements because theater stages mediated reality and these elements bring that staged reality into view.
