Find the vertex of the graph of the quadratic function. f(x) = -2x^2 + 4x - 8

first use the equation for the axis of symmetry which is -b/2a. this gives us -4/2(-2). so our equation of our axis of symmetry is x=1. now we just plug that into our equation for the y value. f(1)=-2(1^2)+4(1)-8 which gives us -6. so our vertex is (1,-6).
