Mandy bought a bag of peanuts to share with her friends. • Trisha received 1/2 of the peanuts in the bag. • Vince received 1/4 of the peanuts Trisha received. • Ray received 1/3 of the peanuts Vince received. If Ray received 4 peanuts, how many peanuts were in the bag Mandy bought? A 13 B 32 C 96 D Not here

So, the amount of peanuts Trisha gets is 1/2a. Vince gets 1/2*1/4a (or 1/8a) Ray gets 1/3*1/8a (or 1/24a). If 1/24a = 4, then when we multiply both sides by 24, we get the amount of peanuts in the bag (which is a). 24*4 = 96 peanuts.
