Sorry, I didn't completely understand, but this is what you'll have to do. Find the area of that Hans needs to paint. I'm guessing it'll be 18in * (length) then you'll have to multiply times two to find the total.

12 in in a foot

once you have your area, you'll have to convert, either your area to paint, or the 175ft^2 to inches. I myself don't like working much with decimals, so I'd go for the second option.

175ft^2=2100in^2

We now know what a quart can paint. If you'd like to know for a gallon just multiply by 4

2100*4=8400

Depending on how much the total area was you'll decide to buy paint by quarts or gallons or quarts and gallons.
