a rectangular yard measuring 38 ft by 69 ft is bordered and surrounded by a fence. Inside, a walk that is 2 ft wide goes all the way along the fence. Find the area of this walk. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.

Draw out the rectangle 38ft by 69 feet. Draw a smaller rectangle inside that, that is only 2 feet from the edge of the bigger one... break it up into four triangles. Calculate the area.

I came up with 444 ft ^2 and 312 ft ?^2 I don't know if one or either of those are right. :/
