sqrt{169/100}

can you tell me what 13^2 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

169

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember that sqrt(x/y) = sqrt(x) / sqrt(y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and 10^2 is 100 so really what we have is: \[\sqrt{\frac{13^2}{10^2}} =\sqrt{(\frac{13}{10})^2}\]

can you see how writing it like that helps?
