In the parallelogram AXYZ, line segment AT = 4y – 2, line segment TY = 6x -12, line segment TX = 14, line segment ZT = 2x + 12. Find the value of x and y. A. x = 4, y = 6 B. x = 48, y = 28 C. x = 6, y = 28 D. x = 6, y = 4

I guess you posted this same question a few days back, which was comprehensively explained by us. Still have a doubt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well,AT=TX, you know the value of TX, you can find out y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I do that though? I'm so confused on this whole thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

similarly ZT=TY , when you will get the value of y , find TY at first , it is ZT .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.TX=AT. TX=14 , AT=14,... you know AT =4y-2, so, 4y-2=14 , y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then my answer would be D. x=6, y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

Thanks so much! :)
