In figure below, R is the midpoint of NP. If the circumference of circle N is 75.36, what is the area of circle P?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. The circumference of a circle is pi*diameter. 75.36=3.14*d. 75.36/3.14=d d=24 R is the midpoint of np so pr=1/2 of np which is the diameter of N which is 24. So the diameter of p is 1/2*24=12 so the area of p= pi*r^2 r = 1/2*12=6 so area =pi*6^2 or pi *36 0r 3.14*36= 113.04
