will someone show me how to find the foci of a hyperbola and a parabola
from the equations?
For any general equation of parabola say y^2 = 4*a*x foci = (a,0) For any general equation of hyperbola say x^2/a^2 - y^2/b^2 = 1 b^2= a^2(e^2-1) find e. Then foci ( a*e,0) and (-a*e,0)
i do not understand your equations for the two graphs, I'll give an two example equations (x-3)^2/25 - (y+2)^2/9 = 0 y = 3x^2 + 7x + 2
See here and try by yourself for hyperbola - -> http://www.algebra.com/algebra/homework/equations/THEO-042510.lesson for parabola --> http://www.purplemath.com/modules/parabola.htm
or you could show me with my examples?
draw out your example(s)... i'll try to help...
draw them using the primitive Draw button?
ok... type em out
