MIT 6.00 Intro Computer Science (OCW) 7 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the advantage of python over other OOP languages??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The most obvious one to me is that the syntax is simpler.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but is it platform independent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, it's. It's also scripted, meaning it's faster to write the code and (generally) faster to debug. It's fast, it's simple, it's useful.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant, interpreted and that it's a scripting language.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not an expert, but i would say python is has an extremely simpler syntax as compared to other OOPs.(from my personal experience). Also python is interpreted language, which means it is easier to debug and modify as compared to other languages. That's why MIT uses python in it's introductory course to Computer programming. i.e 6.00
