Question 1: True or False. The two functions f and g defined by f(x) = 3x + 3 for x real and g(t) = 3t + 3 for t real and positive are equal? Answer : False. Two functions are equal if their rules are equal and their domains are the same. How did the question arrive to this answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The domains aren't the same. f(x) has for domain all x in the Reals, while g(t) is defined for t in the Reals and greater than 0. In mathematical notation:\[dom f = R\]

Thanks! :)

No problem :-)

Minor correction\[domg = t > 0, t \in R\]
