\[\int\limits_{-4}^{4}x ^{3}+6x ^{2}-2x-3 dx\]
OpenStudy (aravindg):
do u expect me to simply integrate this?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
nope..Write the integral as the sum of the integral of an even and odd function
OpenStudy (aravindg):
then just split it

how?

x^3 and 2x are odd
and 6x^2 and -3 even
OpenStudy (aravindg):
then apply integral of sum =sum of integrals
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so then its the integral of x^3 and 2x + the integral of 6x^2 and -3?
OpenStudy (aravindg):
it must be
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thts it?

ys..whats the matter?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
nothing..i just thought there was to it..and then...r u supposed to just integrate it and solve?
OpenStudy (aravindg):
ys.. this type of qn only is to be expected in a subjective paper where the examiner tests if you know what is odd and even fn along with integration and the theorem integral of sum =sum of integrals ...a combo i mean
