A rectangle has an area of 120cm squared. It's length and width are whole numbers. What are possibilities for the two numbers? Which possibility gives the smallest perimeter... Please show work and answer...

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

one possibility is 1 cm by 120 cm perimeter is 242 cm but this is the largest perimeter possible

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

2 cm by 60 cm also has an area of 120cm^2 its perimeter is 124cm

I got 44 at least my teacher said that but idk how he got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

120 = 2*2*2*3*5 gives all possibles. 8*15/46 seems smallest.
