Closing questions: I need to close this question now, since I have to ask another question, even though I havent got answer to this one yet. I have been a Open study user for long now, when I joined it was pretty pretty simple to use OS, I could ask many questions at the same time I was having problems with, while working on all of them at the same time. Without having the need to close or bump and all this stuff. OS has lost its simplicity which was the beauty, and eventually the interaction and the easiness to ask the questions has been lost. I hope some moderator or the developers

Closing questions: The need to close a question, even though you still have not got the answer to that one, since I have to ask another question, even though I havent got answer to this one yet. I hope some moderator or the developers of this site will have a look over this matter, specially for the long term members. I suggest they should develop something more powerful and effective for the spammers, at the same time not letting down their old users, who arent spammers. :( This can be done something with the grading/smart score system they have. For example, a person who's a member for a year now, or let's say he has a score of above 50 or is a higher level user (E.g. group star etc.) must have the liberty to ask at least 4 - 5 questions, without having to close them, since there are a lot of times we are working on many problems collectively. I hope they understand. :(

Interaction is indeed the key. But in the past when an asker was planting many questions there would be no dialogue between asker/helper the asker was busy posting additional questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not because of spammer but because you can post unlimited questions then do whatever you want and after some time come in and just copy all the answers which were given to you as I guess you want to do aswell?

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

radar is correct. While this method certainly has been effective at stopping spammers, our primary goal, as always, is to increase the *quality* of interaction on the site and to increase the percentage of questions that get answered. Since we released the one-question-at-a-time feature, we've seen a sharp jump in the number of questions that are answered in a certain period of time. For that reason, I don't see open/closing going away completely. That said, we're considering other options because there are some use cases where it is less than ideal. We're going to continue evaluating it as time goes on to see if a different system for higher level users would benefit the community as a whole. Thanks for your feedback!
