Dont solve just explain steps please The table below shows the ticket rates for whale watching trips offered by Orca Magic Tours. Age Ticket Price Under three years free Three to twelve years $32 Over twelve years $44 On a certain day, the company took 82 people on whale watching trips. There were 54 children aged twelve and under, of which some children were under three years. If x represents the number of children under three years, which equation can be used to find the value of x, where C
The end's missing.
where C represents the total amount of money collected from tickets that day?
Ok, so the total number of people on the trip is 82 The number of children under 12 is 54. The number of children under 3 is x What is the number of children between age 3 and 12? What;s the number of people over 12?
28 people over 12
Right Ok, how many between three and twelve?
You can't give a number yet, it's an expression with x.
Im so confused right now o.O
We know that 54 kids are younger than twelve years. 'x' of those is younger than 3. The rest are between three and twelve years. So the number of kids between three and twelve years is 54-x. Does that make sense? If not can you point out exactly what part you don't understand?
Are we supposed to be finding 'X' ? If so thats what i dont get...How do i get the number of kids under 3 without having the ammount of money they spent
(54 – x)32 + (82 – 54) ∙ 44 = C ?
You don't have to find x, just write the expression that says what the total amount spent is (in terms of x)
Like that, yes :)
Thanks for the help! :D
You can do some algebra to just have x on the LHS.
