I am attempting to apply the Debye theory to a 2D solid of N atoms for which each mode has two polarizations. For the Debye model, I only have the equation g(omega) = (N*D^2*omega^(D-1))/omegaknot^D I only need to know what D is, and I can't find information on it anywhere. I think it may stand for number of Dimensions, but I'm not sure...
