OpenStudy (campbell_st):

regular polygon have all sides equal in length and all angles equal the only regular quadrilateral is a square

OpenStudy (chaise):

Quadrilaterals are any 2D shape with whose inside angles add to give 360 degrees. The meaning quad is coined by 4; four corners. The term irregular depends from your country of origin, or where your text book was written. In general: An irregular quadrilateral is: (Outside the US) – a quadrilateral with one pair of parallel sides (a shape known in the US as a trapezoid). (In the US) – a quadrilateral with no parallel sides (a shape known elsewhere as a general irregular quadrilateral).

well in this case the regular is going to be the diamond shaped then these are my only options it has to fit into eitheer thanks

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

no the rhombus isn't regular as only pairs of angles are equal...all 4 angles are equal in a square all 90

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

this is a good website that gives a simple explanation http://www.mathopenref.com/polygonregular.html quadrilaterals are 4 sided polygons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a quad has to have four sides right?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats right... so the polygons are all straight sides shapes... 3 sides triangles 4 sides quadrilaterals 5 sides pentagons 6 sides hexagons etc look at the website above
