Why 50hz frequency is using in electrical purpose of Bangladesh ?

I don't think its a necessity .. but its a standard that has been adopted... A standard is necessary so that all the devices would work on that particular frequency itself!.. So they decided to make it 50 hz.

but in america its 60 hz. and for 120 volts
