Each dimension of a rectangular prism is increased by 80%. What percent of the original volume is the volume of the new prism? a583.2% b51.2% c64% d324%

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

Let's say the dimensions of the original prism are L, W, and H. How do you express the new dimensions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All i got was a b c d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you thinking?

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

They're 1.8L, 1.8W, and 1.8H. The volume of the original prism is V=LWH and the volume of the new one is (1.8L)(1.8W)(1.8H)=5.832LWH=5.832V. Now just do the subtraction 5.832-1 then multiply this by 100.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do 5.832-1x100?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -94.168. Thats not right

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

No, no that. (5.832-1)x100.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what is it a b c or d?

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

It's A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay cool i got it correct thanks bro

OpenStudy (blockcolder):

No prob.
