I have a question 1 1/2 +1 1/3 + 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey it is a mixed fraction \[{1}{{1}\over{2}} +{1}{{1}\over{3}} + {{1}\over{4}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to find the lcd right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make a common denomonator for each fraction: in this case choose 12: 1 1/2 --> 3/2 ---> 18/12 1 1/3 --> 4/3 ---> 16/12 1/4 --> 1/4 ----> 3/12 Now add these: (18+16+3)/12 = 37/12 answer: 37/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[{{3}\over{2}} +{{4}\over{3}} + {{1}\over{4}}\] LCM of 2,3 & 4 is 12 \[{{18+16+3}\over{12}}= {{37}\over{12}}\]
