What's the difference between float and double?

double is has more precision than a floating number. float is 4 bytes(32 bits) double is 8 bytes (64 bits)

Don't count on those bit sizes. The C standard is cagey about the sizes of it's data types. It probably only guarantees that doubles are larger than floats.
