Find the maximum or minimum of: f(x) = x2 + 4x + 4. What is the value of x that produces the maximum (or minimum)?

do you know how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

it's a qudratic. the standard form of a qudratic is ax^2+ bx+ c, where a,b and c are numerical coeffients. the formula for the x coordinate of the vertex (minimum or maximum) is -b/2a. Now can you find the x coordinate of the vertaex?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=2x+4,let f (x)=0 so x=-2

you are in claculus? -2 is correct
