sq. rt. of (3x - 2) = x - 2

The only thing I can suggest is to square both sides, simplify (i.e. get one side equal to 0) and then factorise. I got x to be 8 or 0.

OpenStudy (tommo_lcfc):

There is nothing else that can be done. If you tried to take the numbers on one side and the x terms on the other, you would end up with 2x = 0. x = 0 but then one solution has been missed out. Square roots suggest squaring first.
