Givenhttp://curriculum.kcdistancelearning.com/courses/GEOMx-HS-A09/b/assessments/S-SimilarPolygonsQuiz/Geometry_6.3_Final_Quiz_9q1.gif calculate the value of WE, BR, and EQ http://curriculum.kcdistancelearning.com/courses/GEOMx-HS-A09/b/assessments/S-SimilarPolygonsQuiz/Geometry_6.3_Final_Quiz_9q2.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eq=43.75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you know that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, eq is wrong --I reversed the order--I will be back in 2 minutes with all of the answers and an explanation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok here is the story we need to find the ratio or proportions between the dies of similar polygons so if we find 2 corresponding sides that each have a fixed valu, we can then see how much larger or smaller each side is to the corresponing side of the other similar polygon so let's take bn and pq at the bottom of the two polygons the bigger one--bn--is 10 and the corresponing side of the smaller one--pq--is 4 so the bigger one will always have sides that are bigger than the smaller one by a factor of 10/4 or 2.5 and the smaller one will always have sides that are smaller than the bigger one by a factor of 4/10 or 0.4 so we=5 br=11.25 eq=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[WE \div4 = 12.5 \div 10\]so WE = 5 Just build ratios for each.

thank you

welcome
