If A = (-2,7), B = (1,10) <-- these are sets and the intervals they take up Then, what is (B intersect A)? I drew the number line, but I do not know if it is: (1,7) OR [1,7]

OpenStudy (anonymous1):

It is (1,7), because 1 and 7 are not included in the original intervals. Parentheses mean open intervals. So, when you have (1,7), it means that the interval goes ranges 1 to 7, but does not include 1 and 7. Do you get it?

Yes thank you.
