Do you say "a team of scientists has", or "A team of scientists have"?

I would say "a team of scienctists has." The a in front of team makes it singular.

You would say "a team of scientists has" because "team" is your subject
ex. team has
(you wouldn't say team have, she have - you would say "She has" and "The team has"
