Do you need to take a specific position or is an outline of the subject, detailing specific point on both sides of the debate? You could for instance contend that glacial melting in specific regions is merely part of the 'natural cycle', citing historical climate fluctuations.

I should have written more about Be the Polar Bear. I would start a paper like that with something like "Imagine you are a polar bear. Your world is changing and shrinking, and not for the better. What if the ground under your feet were literally disappearing every day?"...and then go from there, starting with some solid facts of polar and glacial destruction.
