just isolate n...first thing to do is to put all the constants on the other side, away from n. in this case p is the constant so put it on the other side 3n = 6m + p the next step would be to remove the coefficient of n by dividing both sides by that coefficient so \(\Large \mathsf{ \frac{\cancel{3}n}{\cancel{3}} = \frac{(6m + p)}{3}}\)
