Okay so i need some bio help. How does the process by which sedimentary rock forms allow scientists to determine the relative age of fossil fuels?

The different layers of sediment can be dated and compared to other layers around the world of a known time frame. Older rock is generally much deeper than newer rock on the surface, and by looking at the layers formed by different time periods you can start to get a relative time frame of when things existed.
