Choose all correct answers. Which of the following ordered pairs are solutions of the system, y > 3 and y < 2x + 2 A. (0, 2) B. (2, 4) C. (3, 5) D. (-2, 0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B and C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And how did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y>3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only B and C have y greater than 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then y has to be less than 2*x + 2 B) 4<2*2 + 2 C)5<2*3+2 B and C follow the both conditions and are solution to the equations.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the last step in any solution is to double check your results all this amounts to is double checking the answers to see what fits

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still don't understand. Except the 4>3 and 5>3. What about the second equation, y<2x+2?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

spose i had: 5+x=8 and I got a result that x=2 how would I check to see if im right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, wait, I get it. I was making a mistake.. ;c y<2x+2 4<2(2)+2 4<4+2 4<6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot to add in the x.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:) good job
