formula given didnt help help me formula for area of a decagon i got 1/2 x apothem x perimeter shapes a decagon with a side of 3.6 and an apothem 5.45

Directrix (directrix):

A decagon has ten sides. Assuming that the decagon is regular, the formula for area is the following: A = (1/2) a * p where a is the apothem and p is the perimeter of the regular decagon A = (1/2) * 5.45 * (10 * 3.6) --> Note that (10 * 3.6) = 36 which is the perimeter A = 91 square units

yeah i got 99.72 for area

Directrix (directrix):

Our answers should not vary that much. Would you check my work, please? Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5.54 is apothem, 3.6 is side. Find the area of the Triangle [(base x height) (divided by 2)] then multiply by 10 sides. 5(5.54x3.6)= 99.72 now thats my work

Directrix (directrix):

@suzy4321 --> I think you may have reversed the digits on the apothem --> apothem 5.45 --> Not 5.54

oops but the correct one was 54 so its ok and u were prob right anyways
