A negatively charged particle travelling in the positive y-direction enters an area where a constant magnetic field in the z-direction exists. How will the trajectory of the particle curve? curve along x-z plane curve along y-z plane curve along x-y plane not curve at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that is the last one today > lets do it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know what is the meaning of curve here!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shery , when a magnetic field when applied perpendicular to a charge q moving with velocity v , then the charge begins to move in a circle. Remember this. Also if the particle is not exactly moving perpendicular, but an angle to the magnetic field, then the particle would execute helical motion

Now tell me what should your answer be??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that what i was thinking about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what is your answer??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmmmm i think x_y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

curve along yz plane i guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you are right. @sherry |dw:1335576048964:dw|
