A small suggestion: In the mathematics group there could be a small bar above or below the ask question sign where you can scroll up and down to select the subtopic. It can be useful to the person answering the question and he can check whether he is strong in the particular topic before proceeding to answer.
What do you think @darthsid ?
Subtopics in the sense trigonometry, calculus, algebra etc.
it's a good idea..although it might be a bad idea to just discriminate the Mathematics group. It would be better if all groups had it somehow. and also regarding the subtopics..how do you suggest to filter the subtopics? like the asker picks a subtopic first before answering? because i dont think programming could filter it automatically...or if it could it would require a lot of coding
Yes, the asker would have to pick a subtopic before being able to ask the question.
And of course, there would have to be subtopics for all groups.
I hope one of the mods see this.
i have been thinking of this for a while too..so i agree with you..but i think the mods should focus on the performance for now..there are alot of bugs and creepy crawlies around..they should squish them first
Come on guys, share your opinions!
I think it's a good idea but not necessarily a priority right now.
Yeah, its not a priority, but it would turn out to be really useful.
@myininaya @shadowfiend
Pratu there has been soemthing in the Feedback of OS about not putting mods and other people names for them to see your suggestion or question.They see it so plz dont @ lots of people just for them to come.
@pratu043 @darthsid just got back into town. I thought he would respond so I didn't when I first saw this.
He should respond momentarily. :)
Thanks Carniel I didn't know that, sorry to the mods.
Great idea pratu043 :) In fact, it is so great that we've tried it before, but we never really got it right. This is something we are definitely going to do, but we want to do it right this time. There are considerations like making sure people categorize their questions, putting the right categories, getting answers for less popular categories etc. We're going to do it, but we need to grow a little more, and think a little more, before we try it again :)
Thanks darthsid
