i dont want the answer . just want to know how to solve it. You are decorating a cylindrical hat box to give to your grandmother as a gift. You want to paste family photos onto the curved part of the box. The height of the box is 8 inches and the radius is 7 inches. If none of the photos overlap, what is the area of photographs you need? Use 3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The entire formula for the surface area of a cylinder is 2πr2 + 2πrh you only need the second part, the first part is for the top and bottom.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so how would i write it to solve it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have you determined the surface area of the curved part of the box yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no , im confused on the whole thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, the part 2πrh, is what the equation is for the curved part of the hat box. plug the radius and the height of the hat box into this and then you will know the surface area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good luck

thanks
