Which of the following equations has the given solution set? Solution set: Ø -2m + 5 = 2m + 5 -2m + 5 = -2m + 5 -2m + 5 = -2m - 5

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Wrong

Parth (parthkohli):

Why is it theta? I don't understand..

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The second one simplifies to 5 = 5 which is true. So the second one has every number as a solution.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the second one?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The third one simplifies to 5=-5 which can never be true regardless of what you substitute for m so choose the third one because the problem says which of these equations has the solution set that is the empty set. That is the symbol for the empty set NOT THETA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would it be?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So what part of my explanation do you not understand? Or did you read it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i read it but must of miss read it i see now
