Create your own example of a mathematical phrase you might hear in the real world and provide the translation for it. Be sure to identify what part of the phrase is represented by your variable.

Okay, um you would commonly hear something like
"That shirt is 80% off its original price"
If the shirt was say $10 then 80% off would be $8 off

equation = 10% of $10 is $1 so subtract $2 :)
or 10 x 8/100 = x

There are sooo many....how about a simple recipe...to make one cup of rice you need 2 cups of water so for each serving of rice (for x number of cups of rice to make) you need:
1 cup of rice=2cups of water, so
x cups of rice=2x cups of water
