\[\lor\]means or so forget the first two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the ~ means NOT so go with #3 it is always #3

OpenStudy (happykiddo):

ok could you explain the "or" and "and" differance in the answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in math OR means "one or the other or both" so if i say "I will go to the movies or eat popcorn" it means either i will go to the movies, or i will eat popcorn, or i will eat popcorn at the movies. AND means both, so if i say "i will go the the movies and eat popcorn" it means just what you think it means, i will eat popcorn at the movies

OpenStudy (happykiddo):

oky dok so for this one the answer would be the 3rd answer p = Pentagons have five sides. q = Parallel lines do not intersect. Which symbolic representation demonstrates the following statement? “Pentagons have five sides, and parallel lines intersect.” ~p ∧ q p ∧ ~q p ∨ ~q ~p ∨ q
