Geometric Series Question

OpenStudy (zepp):

How could this be equal? If we simplify it, it would be 1200(1-(1.03)^n-1) = 3600(1-(1.03)^n-1) 1200 =/= 3600

OpenStudy (zepp):

Let me call someone.. @lgbasallote

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i dont get the question lol...sorry

OpenStudy (zepp):

but my explanation above showing that the system would never be equal is right, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am also given other information. The fixed cost of one system is $10,000 and the yearly costs of that system are \[T _{n} = 3600(1.03)^{n}\]

OpenStudy (zepp):

Have no idea, sorry :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay and one system is The fixed cost is $50,000 and the yearly costs of that system are: \[T _{n}=1200(1.03)^{n}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My question is Determine an equation that could be solved to determine the number of years when the cost of each system is Equivalent.
