Multiply: -5x+4 by 4 x^2+2
Shouldn't be too much of a challenge. Use the distributive property, disguised as the FOIL technique.\[(-5x+4)(4 x^2+2)=-20x^3+16x^2-10x+8\]Actually, I did it FIOL so the terms would end up in the correct order, but it works either way.
i dont get it
Take a look here. http://www.wtamu.edu/academic/anns/mps/math/mathlab/col_algebra/col_alg_tut6_poly.htm
Or here http://coolmath.com/algebra/03-polynomials/06-polynomials-multiplying-foil-01.htm
you already foil it though so what next
would i combine next
That's all there is.
The structure of this particular problem generates no like terms in the product.
so that the answer you wrote
Yep.
because i dont understand what it is that i am suppose to do
Take a look at the links I left for you above.
