What will actually happen if we touch a high voltage circuit, but it can't flow from my body to earth due to high resistivity. Will i get charge? Like if i touch the negative terminal, will i become negatively charge like the van da graaff effect?
@hei , who said our body has high resistivity? I mean our body is a good conductor of electricity and that's why you get shock while touching your wet hand with electrical switch Ofcourse, our body cannot sustain even voltage of 240V then think about 3.6 x 10^6 V voltage on our body. We should be good cooked chickens then:)
BTW 3.6 x 10^6 V voltage is the maximum possible voltage on van de graff generator
Never try this experiment @hei .. specially at high voltages.. It seems you are talking about DC circuits.. yeah, i think, you might get negatively charged on touching -ve terminal as long as the charge doesn't get discharged from your body.. well, a rough value for the internal resistance of the human body is 300-1,000 Ohms. Not that less as well.. Naturally, the resistance also depends on the path that electricity takes through the body - if the electricity goes in the left hand and out the right foot, then the resistance will be much higher than if it goes in and out of adjacent fingers.
