How do i factor 2x^2 - 16x + 32 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply 2 and 32 find the factors of 64 that when added or subtracted can equal 16 then split 16x into two numbers then put them in parentheses then factor each one and then factor the result

Parth (parthkohli):

32 * 2 = 64 and -8 * -8 = 64, so 2x^2 - 8x - 8x + 32 => 2x(x - 4) - 8(x - 4) => (2x - 8)(x - 4) => 2(x - 4)(x - 4)
