I have an idea! When I go through my messages it is a pain to try to find a specific one. So maybe if they made a function to like, at least search by user?
How many messages do you even get?
Yeah, we need to group those messages into conversations much like Facebook and Twitter do. The current method is too cumbersome. It's on the schedule, but we've been tied up with the new awesomesauce so it hasn't gotten done yet. But it is on the list! Thanks!
"awesomesauce" we'll be expecting that :)
@farmdawgnation can we expect individual chat boxes?
@waheguru.....a ton x2 ;p @farmdawgnation Awesome! Looking forward to it @lgbasallote...awesomesauce? lol
@AravindG i dont think tehy're going to do that..i asked them that question when the direct messaging was introduced and they abruptly said no..i doubt they changed their minds
@lgbasallote i dont get that ..if they allow messaging then why cant they allow chat afterall chat is nothing but an efficent method of messaging
infact if two persons are sending 5 or 6 messages what they are actually doing is 1-1 chat
hmmm..i think they want a line between openstudy and facebook...and i think they see no sense in one-on-one chatting
"Yeah, we need to group those messages into conversations much like Facebook and Twitter do" farm's quotes
group the messages...like a conversation way..kinda like in iphones...but i dont think there'll be a one-to-one chat
hmm.. i think it will be useful idea
No, Aravind, we have no plans at this time for one-on-one chat. Direct Messages meet the use case of needing to have a conversation with someone one-on-one for now, and the volume of messages that are being exchanged are not enough to justify a chat interface at this time. That said, thanks for the suggestion. We'll keep it in mind as an option moving forward.
thanks farm
