Can anyone explain me how set theories are relevant to real life situations? Thank you
Set theory is actually probably one of the least applicable branches of mathematics in real life. Some set theory (mostly naive set theory) is essential to understanding upper-level mathematics, though, and upper-level mathematics can be very relevant, so you get there indirectly.
Well, basic ability to think about sets is practical. After your couple of class sessions though, it's super theoretical.

I'm been hearing that a lot even from a math teacher that has been teaching for 30 yrs. Right now is very theoretical for me I barely understand the concept and more if I have to teach about it.
I had the same situation happen with my Modern Algebra course. I asked about applications the first day, and he said that there weren't many, besides their applications to higher levels of mathematics.
so how can you apply set theory? give me an example I'm trying to really understand this concept using real life situations.
